I’m Carol Seaborne, a massage and movement therapist based in Rainham, Medway. I help people living with persistent pain, stiffness or reduced confidence in movement feel better, move more easily, and return to the things they enjoy.
I combine soft tissue therapy with guided movement to calm symptoms, improve mobility and rebuild strength in a safe, supportive way. Whether you need help with osteoarthritis, shoulder or back pain, or you simply want to feel more comfortable and capable in daily life, I can guide you at your pace.
All sessions take place in my private home clinic or online. Together, we’ll focus on what your body needs right now — so you can move with less fear and more confidence

Most people begin with a massage appointment when they’re in pain, stiff or feeling unsure what is best to do next. In these appointments I combine massage therapy with clear and simple advice how to manage symptoms with simple exercises that can be done at home.
These sessions are tailored to what your body needs. This approach is often the first step toward feeling better, moving more easily and feeling more confident.
If you’re struggling particularly with lower back pain I recommend Foundation Training as a starting point. It is safe, adaptable and easy to do at home.
A supportive 12 week programme for anyone living with pain, poor mobility or joint stiffness. This approach is ideal if you have tried different therapies, felt better for a while, then symptoms have returned – and you’re ready for a more supportive approach.
I give you clear guidance, using simple strength exercises that build confidence. Each session is tailored around your symptoms and your pace. Over time you’ll feel stronger and more capable. This isn’t a quick fix programme.
Perfect for anyone who wants to get stronger but is feeling nervous about managing pain, joint pain or if you’ve never trained before.
Build your Foundation is a movement programme designed for anyone who is living with ongoing pain, especially lower back pain, and want a safe, gentle structured way to move again without fear of doing something wrong. This programme is for those looking for therapeutic, slow movement delivered with clear guidance.
What is the difference between your online and face-to-face services?
For anyone seeing me in my clinic, I can include manual therapy. Everything else is the same. Manual therapy is an excellent addition to symptom management, but the most critical aspects are understanding your back pain and knowledge of how best to manage it and move.
How can I work with you?
I offer face-to-face and online appointments. Online appointments are on Zoom. You can book a consultation here.
How long are coaching sessions?
All of my sessions last a minimum of 60 minutes.
Can you help me with my specific back problem?
Many of my clients already have a diagnosis, a disc injury, scoliosis, hypermobility, spondylarthritis, sciatica, etc. I screen everyone before accepting them as a client to ensure we can work together safely. If this is your first episode of back pain and you are worried about your symptoms, it is best to speak to your GP first.
Still not sure if I am the right person to help you with your back problem?
Book a free 15-minute zoom call to find out more.
What will I need to work with you online?
All calls take place on Zoom. I need to be able to see all of you on camera standing up or laying down. A laptop or tablet is best as a phones screen may be too small. If we are doing movement-based work, you will need a yoga mat, space to be able to stand up, lay down on the floor on your back or your tummy (we can adapt everything if you can’t get down onto the floor), a dining room-style chair and, of course, comfortable clothing.
What makes the Back Care One-To-One Coaching different?
One-to-one coaching addresses more than just the biomedical side of back pain. It addresses how your back pain affects you physically, emotionally and in your daily life. It aims to help you learn about your back pain, understand how you have made sense of it, and provide you with ways of managing it in the future so you can manage and reduce your back pain.
What is Foundation Training
Whole-body movements designed to help you move away from pain. No specialist equipment is required. It will improve your posture and work your back muscles to build confidence and resilience. It is highly adaptable to suit all abilities, so you don’t need to be flexible or good at stretching.
How much does it cost?
Each person’s experience of back pain is unique, so a programme is tailor-made to what you need as an individual and your goals, so the cost depends on your specific needs.
